I started work in the ‘80s in HR and then sales and account management. By the ‘90s I was a mum and ran a successful retail business for 10 years before heading off to uni. With a bunch of qualifications under my belt, I have worked in the public and private sector, private practice, PR agency and academic fields. In short, I am a senior communication professional with a long (and varied) career.
I have experience in research, business analysis, communication audit, counsel and problem-solving. As a senior communicator, I have the knowledge and experience to work with communication teams in areas or strategic intent and evaluation. I also offer in-house communication and writing training that can be tailored for the needs of staff.
Most of my recent contracts have been for editing as I am across business and government requirements for editing and am familiar with government financial reporting requirements and publishing using digital reporting tools.
I bring to my editing all my skills as a communicator; writing for purpose, the audience, in plain English and give consideration to accessibility, user access and publishing.
